Mr. Blackwell, I presume...

Here's a great story about French President Chirac leaving his tie off for a couple meetings at the G8 summit.
SEA ISLAND, Ga. (AP) -- In the end, President Jacques Chirac did take off his tie. But it took awhile. The French president stood out from other world leaders during the first few days of the Group of Eight summit by keeping on his tie while others went casual.

But Chirac loosened up as the summit went on, going tie-less for a photo with other leaders sporting open collars as they strolled late Wednesday along a beach.

On Thursday, the three-day summit's last day, Chirac also left behind his tie for a morning one-on-one meeting with President Bush.
What the hell? The leaders of the eight wealthiest industrialized nations in the world get together to discuss God knows what and we get bulllshit stories like this? I probably shouldn't complain. At least it's not another piece of Reagan-fellating fiction that seems to be all the rage right now.
